After five days in Nashville for the amp show I am finally back in the shop. I’m tired, but had a great time. We brought a batch of Metropoulos plexi replicas for everyone to demo and met tons of people, from as far away as Norway. There are lots of pictures and videos to go through and upload, so stay tuned…

Amp Show Review by WoodyTone

by George Metropoulos | May 18th, 2009 | No Comments »

Our room at the 2009 New York Amp Show, along with a few others, has been reviewed at WoodyTone.com. The author gives his impressions of visiting several rooms and trying out the amps on display.

Here is some of what he had to say about us:

Sounded amazing, like you could get just about any classic rock guitar sound out of that head that you wanted… I did talk with someone at Metro for a bit about what makes their heads so good, and the answer amounted to George Metropoulos being borderline crazy (in a good way) about specs, parts and, ultimately, tone. That I can believe. Metro’s got wood!

2009 Amp Show on YouTube

by George Metropoulos | May 14th, 2009 | No Comments »

The New York Amp Show took place on May 9, 2009 at the Embassy Suites hotel in Piscataway, New Jersey. The show is an amazing experience, with over 50 amp vendors in the same hotel, each in their own room with all their gear set up. For a full day, you can walk through and try out any amplifier as loud as you want.

The Metropoulos Amplification room was packed all day from 10am until closing at 7pm and it continued after hours as well. At any time there were two or three people waiting to try out an amp! We had our full line of plexi replicas at the show for demos, including our extra tall cabinet, and took orders for several builds. A big thank you to everyone who took the time to stop by and try out my amps.

The video cameras were rolling to capture the informal jams all day. See the videos »
